DUGO AT BASO

NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING
~A special blog post for every hero in the world

"Inialay ko ang buhay ko para sa inyo."

"Bawa't buhay, masaya't malungkot,

...Hanggang kailan susukatin?
Hanggang kailan bubuhayin?
Hanggang kailan maaangkin?

Maunawaan man, may pagkakasala pa din.

Ako ma'y tao ding nilikha at nagkakasala.

Victoria's Secret

Party Perfect Palette Review + Swatches

Hello everyone! This is the 2nd day that I'll be posting a review about beauty products. There are a lot of Sales going on right now and I'm pretty sure most of the girls can't take their eyes on things that are too attractive for them not to buy.

I don't really mind eyeshadows or palettes since I'm not good with eye makeup. But since my eyes are swollen like "bloodshot gun of swellies!!!" HAHAHA. (@...@) That's why I sort of have to study and learn them a bit.

Anyway this palette was given as a gift to my mom by her student in a culinary school. My mom's a GREAT BAKER by the way and she taught in a culinary school last year. Though it's only part time, she's been having too many commendations from the students and the owners themselves. >>HAHAHA..I know right..<<

(photo from google)

As you can see it's a go-to palette that you can put in your purse or bag, ready for touch-ups anytime.
It has 2 shades for the lid, 2 for the crease, and 2 for highlight. It also comes with a gel liner and a double-ended brush.

Front

Back  >>sorry about the flash.. (-_-")<<

This is the back of the flip flop cover. I made it look darker so it can somehow be visible. >>THE FLASH!! (#...#)<<

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
The perfect palette for sexy, party-ready eyes.

HOW TO APPLY:
The palette has easy to follow instructions and illustrations on how to put on an eye makeup. First is the LID. Sweep a "lid" shade across lid. By the way, there are 2 shades, one is a brownish shade and the other a silver shade. Then blend the color up to the brow bone and out to create a subtle winged shape at the outer corner. Run the same shade below the lower lashline. Second is the CREASE. Apply a "crease" shade at the outer corner and blend in towards the center, keeping color below the crease. Run in the same "Crease" shade along the outer half of the lower lashline. Third is the HIGHLIGHT and LINE. Add a brightening hit of a "Highlight" shade to the inner corner of the eye and along the browbone. Finish by applying the gel liner along top and bottom lashlines.

double-ended applicator

Swatches of the black gel liner

Swatches of the black gel liner (with flash)

Swatches of the "lid" shades.
Brown Shade (up) Silver Shade (down)

Swatches of the "crease" shades.
Violet shade (up) Blue shade (down)

Swatches of the "highlight" shades.
White Shade (up) Gold shade (down)

Since this is my first time reviewing eyeshadows, I think this palette did a fair job. In my opinion the shades are really appropriate for a sexy, party look style. Especially the "crease" shades. The Gel liner is similar to MAC's black gel liner. The liner could be quite messy upon application because the brush is really thin. That's why you may have to apply it little by little. I find it a bit hard to apply the liner using the brush that's why I would recommend that you use another brush. While the eyeshadow sponge applicator's texture is a bit rough that's why I prefer using another brush or fingertips.

PROS:
* The black liner is creamy and silky. It has a nice jet black pigment.
* The shadows doesn't leave creases and doesn't sit on fine lines.
* Coverage is light to medium.
*You can create so many different looks.
*"highlight" shades can also be used to highlight the high points of the face like the browbone, nose, nasolabial sulcus (cupid's bow), center of the forehead (just above the the brow arch), and cheeks.

CONS:
* It doesn't really have a rich color and you may have to re-apply many times.
*I find the "crease" shades hard to blend with the applicator.
*The white "highlight" shade looks chalky.
*It is not smudge and water proof.
*It doesn't last all day. You have to put a good eye primer for it to really last.

NEUTRAL:
*None.

RECOMMENDATION:
* I think it suites even to those who have oily lids. Put on a thin layer of powder to set it to avoid smudging.
*It is better to use a primer if you want it to last for hours.
*Use a good eyeliner and eyeshadow brush for application.
*To those who have fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, it's better to use an  eye cream and a primer so it wouldn't set on your imperfections.

Will I re-purchase?
*NO. I'm not really a fan of eyeshadows and I don't think I'd use this kind of palette every day.
If I were to buy eyeshadows or a palette, I think I'd just buy a neutral set or those that are light and wearable for the everyday look. I may also purchase a light or neutral lip tint and just mix it with my concealer, foundation, or BB cream.

WHERE TO BUY and PRICE:
*This is a gift given to my mom. I don't really know the exact price. Though I've seen a random website that sells it at a discounted price of Php 395.

*You can check it up at online websites like EBAY.com

*Or visit Victoria's Secret Counters in Malls. They have a store in SM Mega Fashion Hall. I just don't know if this palette is available. They have a lot of palettes and kits to choose from anyway.

IN2IT Sheer Natural Gel Foundation Review

Konnichiwa minna-san! I've just finished doing my first post! Be sure to check out my review of the Liole Water drop BB Cream. (@o@)

Well Before I start the review, let me tell you a brief history about the Cosmetic Line. IN2IT started 12 years ago when a group of like-minded artists and designers began developing cosmetic products for fun. The objective was to develop high quality products at an affordable price. It became a big hit and was a quick success. The brand is owned by Asia Pacific Cosmetics Corporation (APCC) in Hong Kong, a private company. It is particularly famed for eyeliners, eye colours, and blush. The products are formulated for Asian skin using ingredients and technology from Japan and Europe. (info from IN2IT website)

This is the photo of the product though the one that I got comes with a free concealer, which I'd review on another post. (photo from google)

This is the ad from their website.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
* A non-greasy water based formulation that is easy to apply and blend. Contains Bisabolol to help soothe and condition the skin. Contains 69% natural ingredients, no fragrance and is oil-free.
* Water proof
* Light and has a very natural finish
* It Conceals very fine lines and wrinkles
* Contains Vitamin E and Aloe vera for extra moisture
* It has SPF 25 PA++
* It has whitening properties

INGREDIENTS:

HOW TO APPLY:
Use Fingertips for applying. Sponge is best used for those who have oily skin like me.

This is the back of my hand with a pea sized amount of the product. It was a bit yellowish. There are only two shades. I got the second shade which is the Golden Beige, the other one is Light Beige. Unlike the Liole Water Drop BB Cream, this one looks a bit creamy and has more coverage especially if you build it up.

photo taken with flash

The Cream slightly blended.

With Flash

It may really be not noticeable but it also didn't leave any thick coverage.

With Flash. If you take a closer look, you can somehow notice that the right part is slightly glossy. That part has the cream blended well. Upon application it may look a bit whiter than expected but it will eventually sink in and change color. As you know, BB creams tend to oxidize and darken after a few hours of application and this product is no exception. It is again a product that is suitable for those who have normal skin type and to those who have relatively good skin and only needs minimal makeup.

PROS:
* It has an SPF which means you don't need to put on a sunscreen lotion or gel.
* It is not cakey and it sets fast
* Covers minor imperfections like small and light scars and spots
*Easy to remove with water and cleanser
*Has a semi-matte finish (good news for people with oily skin)
*Lightweight and is easy to apply

CONS:
* After 2 hours it left a white cast on some areas especially the nose and chin areas.
*It also oxidizes
*Not for Sports Enthusiasts.
* Not suitable for those with oily skin

Neutral:
* Price

Recommendation:
*Those who have normal skin type
*It can also be used by those who have dry skin, you won't have to set it with powder because it somehow looks dewy for those who have normal and dry skin type.

Will I re-purchase?
*No, It's quite good but it isn't really for me that's why I only used a couple of times. I gave it to my mother. She has good skin and only has minor problems like some blackheads even though she's already 41. >>ENVY<< HAHAHAHA...

Where to buy and price:
* SM Supermalls Department Store, Beauty Section: Original Price - Php 400+
Got mine with a free concealer pen for only Php 499(?) I think but it's less than 500 Can't remember if it's 449 or 499. The Concealer is Php 319.75. So it's really a bargain deal!

*Watsons - it may not be available at some stores though.

* Robinson's Department Store

* The Landmark

*Cinderella

* Sta. Lucia East Mall

* Metro Gaisano

* Crossings

* PCX Personal Care Exchange

MY first ever beauty adventure! (^o^)

LIOLE Water Drop BB Cream Review + Swatches
Ohayou minna san! I just said good morning in japs (Japanese) since it's still morning here in the Philippines. This will be my first ever blog post as well. First of all I want you guys to know that I'm really not a fan of beauty products or anything that has to do with it. I used to be the "she-man" type. HAHAHAHA. But I need to improve myself since I'm getting old and I'm a workaholic "loka girl" so I started to look for the appropriate things that are good for my sensitive and not-so-good type of skin.

Korean products became a huge hit here since a lot of the Filipinos became obsessed with the porcelain, natural and glowing look of the Korean celebrities. I said Filipinos because women here are not the only one's that are concerned with their looks. Truth is, guys tend to be more anxious.

The first ever beauty product that I bought was the LIOLE WATER DROP BB CREAM.

I got it from Lazada last 2013.

It looked so promising since it claims that it makes wonders on your skin that's why this was my first choice. It's also one of the cheapest korean bb creams and is even discounted at Lazada that time.

This is the original picture as advertised by the company. (photo from google)

This is the English version. (photo from google)

While this one, I think, is the previous version. It's almost the same though except for the upgraded packaging.

PRODUCT CLAIMS:
* It is a moisturizing bb cream which makes your skin moist since it contains water drop.
* It naturally covers the skin blemishes to create clean skin tone and keeps the skin soft for a long time without glossiness
* It has an SPF of 27 PA++
* Forms water droplets upon application.
* Contains various plant extracts to keep skin moist and healthy, providing a natural color.
* Cool Relief of reddened skin.

INGREDIENTS:
Water, Phenyl Trimethicone,Titanium Dioxide, Cyclopentasiloxane, Alcohol Denat,Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate,4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, Talc,PEG-10 Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, CI 77492, Sodium Citrate,Methylparaben, Chlorphenesin, Butylparaben, CI 77491, CI 77499, Fragrance, Cyclomethicone,Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Disodium EDTA,PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide , Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hexyl Laurate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract,Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Bark/Leaf/Twig Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract, Citric Acid

HOW TO APPLY:
Take an appropriate amount and apply a small dab on your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. With the tips of your finger, spread it evenly on your face. To avoid it from caking, let it sit for about 5 minutes before building it up for more coverage and before applying powder to set it.

Here's my hand with a pea sized amount of the bb cream. It has only one shade which is sort of a worry for those who have lighter or darker skin tone. But as of what the product claims, it blends in seamlessly and adjusts to your skin tone making it invisible as if you have no makeup on.

This is the cream applied lightly at the back of my hand. It may not be seen at the photo but up close, you can really see that there are water droplets forming after a few seconds of applying and blending it on the skin. It's sort of like a tinted moisturizer but I didn't think that it really did moisturize nor cover any of my problem areas. The finish is quite glossy. My skin's relatively oily and it sometimes feel dry without anything on. I really don't like sticky and heavy looking products on my skin. I can say that this product is for those who have REALLY GOOD and NORMAL skin type.

I suggest that you can apply this after your normal skin care routine as a makeup base before applying your medium to full cover foundation and concealer especially those who have skin concerns like acne, pimples, enlarged pores, wrinkles, sun spots, etc.

As a conclusion, I think this product is suited for those who have a normal type of skin.

PROS:
* Lightweight
* It has an SPF, I don't need to apply a sunscreen lotion or gel anymore.
* It didn't give me break outs.
*It is easy to remove even without a makeup remover, water and a mild soap or your go-to cleansers are enough.
* It is not cakey upon application of the first layer.
* You can apply it with your fingers, a sponge or brush but it's best applied with your fingers.

CONS:
* It doesn't cover the problem areas that much.
*It feels a little bit sticky especially if you don't set it with powder.
*It left a white cast after 4 hours and it is hard to blot off the oil.
*After about 8 hours, the cream oxidized and my skin looked dark.
*It doesn't do well picture taking especially with flash photography.
*It didn't last all day, I could say that it only lasted 3 hours at home and in the office, and about 1 1/2 hours outside.
*I won't recommend it to sporty enthusiasts,

Neutral:
*Price
*Fragrance. It doesn't really have a strong smell. It isn't aromatic either. I think it smelled like a mild plastic and a clay.

Recommendation:
*Those who have a normal skin type, stay-at -home moms,  and those who are always in air conditioned rooms.

Will I re purchase?
* I don't think so. Maybe if I have a good skin.

Where to buy and Price:
*Lazada: Original Price - Php 795
Discounted Price - Php 715
~bought it for Php 715 + 99(delivery charge outside metro manila); Php 55 (delivery for metro manila areas)
but they offer free delivery charge for orders 1000 and above. check their website to know more. http://www.lazada.com.ph/
